Technology in P.E.

Good afternoon. To those of you who just started back with students I hope you had an amazing day!

This is one topic that I have been very eager to write about and to get feedback to how you all as professionals use technology in your classes. In my very own opinion when technology is talked about involving physical education I can hear some inner voices of people saying...it wont work. I mean how can it? There is no way we can bring laptops in the gym and have students creating documents and doing online projects can we? Well the type of technology that I am currently in the process of getting of my students is wearable technology and apps related to students personal devices. The one issue with implementing wearable technology is the money (isn't that everyone's problem). I feel like these devices are very expensive because they flat out are. To me though this is defiantly worth fighting for in you classrooms because it will teach children about life long fitness. I think its great kids love team sports but how often do we as adults go out and play with a group of friends? As P.E. teachers I think that answer might be a little skewed but for most people the answer is simply they don't. in implementing pedometers and heart rate monitors we can teach children about how everyone works at different rates and actually be able to show them with the technology on their wrist. The next type of technology that I would love to dig into would be the apps that students can download on their phones. Their are so many apps that can benefit them in the classroom. The most important aspect to me is being able to trust the students to use their own technology in a classroom setting. If there is any post that I would truly love feedback...This is it. This is a true passion of mine and would do nothing but benefit the children. So my question for you is this...

1) How have you implanted technology in your class?

2) If you encountered and budget issue how did you break that barrier?

3) Have you noticed any different in the students effort and enjoyment?

4) Has anyone gotten to the point of grading on effort?

I cant wait to hear your thoughts
