Good Morning! So far I am on a roll with creating post and having a blast while doing it. The one thing that I wanted to bring to the everyone's attention is a my personal views on a fitness based classroom. In the past few years my goal has been to implement a full on fitness based classroom but have had some struggles due to my class sizes of around 50-70 students per class. Since we have hired a second teacher my largest class is down to 28 students! I am in the process of going towards fitness based as we speak. I believe that going in this direction will not only keep students active for a longer portion of their lives but will teach them how to do it so they are set up with the best opportunity. Does that mean that we don't play any team sports at all? That couldn't be further from the truth. I love playing team sports with my students but the use of small sided games is a must so every student has an opportunity to be active. To get this discussion going what are ways that you have implemented fitness in your classes? How has it helped your students and if you do not what are your reasons? Every teacher is different and this is where we learn! Leave your responses in the comment box and of course don't be afraid to follow this blog. I promise I will not be blowing up your inbox 24/7.
